Summer has disappeared, but still the climate here is really irregular and hot. I guess that this year, we, people in South India are cursed with bad weather conditions. The weather is completely unguessable. One day it is hot; one day it is cold and another day it is gloomy. Oily skinned people struggle throughout the year to control oiliness from their skin and especially they find it hard mainly due to such irregular climatic conditions.
    My skin is not completely oily, but normal to oily skin which turns super oily in summers and monsoons; normal in winters and autumn. Currently, my skin is acting oily most of the times with greasiness and rare breakouts on my forehead area. So, when I eyed out for a good face wash that balances oil on my facial skin, I found this Himalaya Herbals Oil Control Lemon Face Wash. I guess this is a newly launched one as I don't find any updates for this on the company's main website. Most of the Himalaya Herbals products worked pretty gentle on my skin and hence I gave this face wash a try. My wish was to get a face wash which balances oil, keep my skin oil free and at the same time 'not dry' and so ended up in trying this. Let us check now whether it worked on my skin or not. My Experience with this Product:

Packaging
This face wash is packed in a see through plastic tube with a flip type cap. The cap is good and sturdy; the whole packaging looks simple and nothing to find bad in it. You can actually see how much is left inside the tube. But wait.. When I purchased my second tube, unluckily it had the worst flip cap. The cap was flimsy and it leaked like anything when I carried it in my bag. I am not sure whether it is a single product mistake or something but Himalaya Herbals need to concentrate on their packaging more.

Colour, Consistency & Fragrance
This is a normal to runny, transparent face wash with tiny blue micro beads (Or granules?) present in it. The consistency looks fresh and cute due to the blue granules which are meant for exfoliation. The fragrance is really fresh and lemon-like; Yes! I do mean that this face wash has a citrus-y fragrance.

How it works
I had no much expectations from this averagely priced face wash but just wanted it to clear the extra oiliness from my skin. Soon after applying it over my wet facial skin, I could feel the granules doing their gentle scrubbing work on my skin. The blue beads exfoliate my skin very gently making the face wash suitable for everyday usage.
           The fresh citrus fragrance refreshed me like anything.  To say about the the lathering part, Well hmm this face wash lathers averagely and washes off well without leaving any slippery feel on my skin. I cannot say that it would get washed away with a single splash of water but with 2-3 splashes, my face is left squeaky clean. The best part about this face wash is that it did not dry out my skin at all unlike few other oil clearing/mattifying face washes. Overall, this face wash clears out all the excess oiliness from the facial skin leaving it soft, clean and smooth without drying it excessively.


PROS

• A huge hit for citrus and refreshing fragrance lovers!
• Acts as an exfoliating face wash with its tiny blue granules
• The gentleness of the face wash (Read exfoliating granules) makes it suitable for everyday usage
• Clears all the oiliness from the skin and leaves skin soft and smooth
• Doesn't leave skin stretchy or dry unlike few other oil clearing products
• Washes out without leaving any slippery feel behind
• Safe to use on sensitive-oily skin types
• Comes in a very affordable price

CONS

• In some packs, cap is flimsy; hence the product is not that suitable for travel usage.
• This face wash acts as an oil clearing face wash and not the oil 'control' one but that can't be taken as a con because they have already mentioned in the pack that it is an oil balancing one. This would help you get rid of oiliness from your skin and leave your skin completely oil free but after 2-3 your T Zone will show some shine if you  have extra oily skin. Hence this is not an oil 'control' face wash. Are you clear?

Recommendation:
If you are oily skinned, if you are in search of a mild exfoliating face wash for daily usage, if you are a citrus fragrance lover, get one for sure. This face wash would suit also normal skin types the best in summers.


Would I Repurchase?:
Sure! I have already purchased it twice. I am in love with this face wash mainly for its gentleness and the refreshing citrus fragrance. The price is also easy on the pocket. Who won't say no?

I think if it wasn't for the full size Mythic Oil from L'Oreal in this months box, I would have been a little disappointed. Not such a fan of lots of sachets and perfume samples in my beauty boxes but I think the cute design by Maggie Li outweighs that! Reader Appreciation: Shruti Kulkarni on her wedding makeup

If you guys follow and read my blog regularly, you wold recollect that a while back I had, had the opportunity to do a wedding makeup for a friend's friend Shruti (now she's my friend too)...  If you don't then here's the link to refresh your memory :) Well, she is now back from her really long honeymoon ;) and decided to write me an email to thank me. Well I must say I should be the one thanking her for for faith she put in me, an amateur makeup enthusiast to do her wedding and reception makeup.

 My sincere apologies for delaying this so much....I wish I had done this much earlier but somehow I wasn't very confident if I could put this up as perfectly as I wanted it to be or felt about it with my experiences.
But this delay has been long enough now and I thought I might as well write it down for you and your blog followers to know than wait for the right time.
 
June 2012 (the month I was going to get married) arrived much earlier than I had expected. I came back from Switzerland just by the end of May and I was already pretty uneasy with the fact that there was very less time for everything to be done.Although the shopping for Sarees, jewellery, decorations and food at the wedding venue was all in place by the first week,I had nothing ready on my look front at all. 

Now everybody dreams of having a wedding look that is perfect in their own ways....and not to forget, sewn with loads of compliments at the same time!
I had wished for the same too. Suave,catchy yet simple and not loud.
I thought how difficult would it be to get someone to prepare that look on me.....but dear god it was!! The makeup I had during my engagement was rather disappointing and I knew finding someone right was going to be a big effort.
And it surely was! I took makeup trials at various parlours (more than my sis could take :)) and turned down all of them. Something or the other went wrong...either the hair, or the glow or the simplicity or most of all, their attitudes (never ready to go to another extent to satisfy probable customers).

I was cribbing about it for a long time and had lost all hopes of ever looking the way I wanted to in my wedding. I had no artistic flair or interest to do it on my own too.
I was at Shweta's house one day (a week before the pre-wedding ceremonies) and she introduced me to your blog, giving me the complete background of your interests and tastes at the same time. I read the blog almost completely the next day and was very pleased with its contents.
The idea was brilliant, the detailed attention to little bits, tips and most of all, the sheer flair of your knowledge of what makeup is all about.
Shweta suggested that we consult you on how to go about the look and get the parlours to do the same.
You instantly agreed to meet up and we had a really long rendezvous that night.I was elated when you produced looks that exactly reflected what I wanted.
To top it all, you even tried a hairdo  on me, just the way I had wanted and it looked wonderful altogether.
 
Although I loved almost all the eye makeups and lipsticks you suggested and even tried on me, I was disappointed with the thought of having to explain this to someone to get it in a similar turnout.Over that time, a seed of desire grew....to ask you if could spare some time and help me yourself with my makeup in the wedding :).
It was too much to ask for since I didn't know if that would offend you, but you Agreed !! Gosh..that relieved me so much!
And to let you know, with all the sense and knowledge you had on what looks good and what not, I was completely confident you would put together a perfectly suave and classy feel to it.

I was right....Although I did trouble you with a list of 'this is what I want to look like' adjectives, you stupendously pulled it off with style.
The eyes were perfect, the lips looked like ones to die for and the shine....oh my, the pictures could tell it all! It looked unconventional and gorgeous.
 

The look for my reception was beautiful and although you were ill that evening, you still were as enthusiastic in your endavour as usual.
It was unexpected but great at the same time when each and everyone coming up the stage complimented me on how I nice I was looking.
My husband was feeling so left out :)! And the best part was when the photographers complimented too....!! They said I was looking very nice and the photos  came out brilliantly with a shine and blush on my face and eyes :)

All thanks to you and I sure have become a fan. I still don't understand too many concepts about makeup but I follow your blog regularly and the tips are simply great for everyday and occasional uplifts. You have an exceptional expertise in the basics and unconventional trends.
I sincerely wish and hope it takes you places and you definitely will succeed in reaching a place where all your opinions and knowhow would matter to a lot of people. 

Kudos to your skills,enthusiasm and persistence to chase the best. Keep writing.

Bow Detail Puff Sleeve Jeweled Skirt Dress & OOTD

Hello damsels!
How are you all doing? I am doing very fine and now excited to share my recent OOTD with you all. I purchased this beautiful puff sleeve bow detail dress from Oasap.com before a couple of weeks. I got this at discount for around $20 and totally loving it. Do check out my pictures and details of the dress below.

My View about this Dress:

This is black cotton dress with a bow detail at top with an attached jeweled skirt. The bow is pure white in colour whereas the dress is black and hence it is a cook black and white combo dress.
    I loved this dress at-first-sight and liking it a lot for its look and softness. This dress is suitable for any season wear and fits comfortably. I usually wear it with a black or white leggings and this does give a very neat appearance. As per the name, it has puffy sleeves which looks really cute.Check out my pictures below; hope I am not scaring you anyone :P

How to get perfect skin tone?

If you want to achieve a natural make-up, then, in the first place ...
Should take care that you have superimposed tonal framework does not look like a mask, and it emphasizes the natural skin tone, carefully concealed defects.

Instead of blush can use bronzer powder. Apply these tools to suit your facial contours to emphasize only advantages.

• Secure all the work done crumbly powder. To do this, the tone should be two shades lighter than your face - then it will not create a mask effect and helps makeup stay on longer face.
